Make a Wish
Poetic response to "The Metaphor"
All my friends are singing,
What wish shall I make?
My thoughts are flying.
I should wish for a prettier look,
I should wish for more friends.
I should wish for not living in a box,
With that white picket fence around.
Candles are burning,
My friends are waiting,
I can not make up my mind,
With all those people watching.
When the candles extinguish,
Warmth vanishes and lights disappear,
but I haven not made my wish--
a party that goes on forever.
